Okay so those of you that have been here for a while will remember our Clan Member named guyt2030, for those of you who don't know who he is, he is one of our clan members who experimented with all of the weapons in Urban Terror and then produced some very detailed weapon statistics for us, you can find the weapon statistics HERE .. I have recently talked to him on skype and he sent me some statistics for the pistols and asked me to post them for him.. so here it goes Very Happy..

Pistol Comparion

Hello all I’m sorry about my lack of posts you may not know this but I’ve recently changed jobs & moved house so it’s taken a long time to settle down. Also due to having a new job I’ve updated my PC, all three of them so it’s been a bit of a hectic month.
Anyways back to the point.
Pistols
Here’s the stats!

Now the pistols in UrT are very interesting! I’m going to list some interesting facts I’ve learnt about each one through playing with them in the field.

Desert Eagle

- You can fire an entire clip in under 2 seconds this makes for an unstoppable Sidearm when using it within confined spaces like Hallways, Tunnels & Rooms, these are the best places to just SPRAY & PRAY

- The first shot is accurate to about 70% the faster you fire the quicker the accuracy rate depletes it goes from 70% to 10% accurate @ 100 metres in 2 seconds so if you want consistent accuracy burst fire 3 or 4 shots, this creates the maximum Killzone %

- This weapon is best suited to CQB due to it’s range but it is workable from a distance. I’ve been able to down 4 enemies from a range of about 50 metres!

- Due to its accuracy don’t go for the headshot at range, this will only lead to your frustration & being outgunned. Always go for the body it offers a whopping 66% damage, two good shots and you will down an enemy, if they’re Kevlar’d it’ll take 3.

- I have also found that this weapon is a great deterrent! What I mean by this is that if you fire this weapon like a madman people will run. This due to the fact it has no silencer & when this weapon goes off near you YOU RUN, you don’t know why but you do so apply that logic the other way round it becomes a great way to flush out enemies & also to make them nervous & a nervous player is one you’ll own time after time after time!

Berretta

- The Berretta’s accuracy DOES NOT DEPLETE!!! What I mean is it doesn’t matter how many rounds you fire in quick succession it keeps it’s 95% accuracy rate.

- Due to it’s accuracy this Sidearm has enormous range, as the game engine doesn’t account for bullet drop it can actually be used as a Sniper-Pistol. I’ve got a headshot off this pistol at 200m!

- Due to it’s low damage to body hits GO FOR THE HEADSHOT!!! The best way to play this strategy is using a 3 shot burst to the shoulder / neck area this way of shooting this pistol will get you kills a lot quicker. If you go for the body shot it may take up to 5 rounds to down an enemy & with the lower Rate Of Fire than the DE you’ll be outgunned before you can blink.

- The Silencer attachment DOES NOT INCREASE ACCURACY it purely serves as a suppressor.

- The Laser DOES NOT INCREASE ACCURACY I would suggest de-activating your laser sight when using this pistol as it will only work against you.

- This is quite simply the best sidearm for covert ops. I cannot tell you how many times I have ownd a sniper by flanking his position and popping two rounds in his head with a silenced Beretta while his teammates have no idea where I am this is because of the range & accuracy of this weapon so you’re are able to get good headshots at a distance!

So which is the better sidearm?
Well this is actually a very hard question to answer. Statistically they are almost on a par with each other! UrT coders have created the best balanced pistols I’ve seen in any FPS! Where one deals more damage the other one is more accurate.
So to answer your question there isn’t a clear answer to which one is better. I think it purely comes down to what kind of game you want to play. If you’re the ‘Rush’ type to go in and blast away then the DE is for you…if you’re the more ‘Run & Gun’ type then go for the Berretta for example If you use a lot long ranged rifles like the SR8 or the G36 go for the DE, you’ll need it for close quarters but if you’re using an AK, LM or M4 then I would suggest the Berretta.

Nice but isn't LR300ML status should be the same as M4 status? because they said it on the game when you try to pick a weapon...

Firstly thank you all for the great feedback!

but to the GUNZ!

The LR3000ML & the M4 are coded relatively the same but the M4 has a more condensed spread when fired in auto mode.

If you compare the two weapons they are very similar but it is an 'Urban' Myth [see what i did there?] that the M4 and the LR3000ML are the 'same weapon but with different skin & sound'

The LR3000ML has a faster reload time of 2.3 seconds where the M4 has a reload time of 2.7 [although this is barely noticeable but can give you the advantage in a firefight]

I don't really like using a 'status' system with weapons on FPS games. This is because 'Status' is merely calculated on Power vs Accuracy & there's so much more to consider when choosing your weapons. One must also take into account ROF, Spread & sound.

A lot of people laugh at me when I talk about gunfire sounds and how to use your ears on how to spot enemies. If you know what weapon your enemy is using before you strike it can make a huge difference.

I will be posting the actual stats of the pistols soon!
